Jacobs to Manage Court Maintenance in So. Calif.

CYPRESS, Calif. — A subsidiary company of Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. was selected by the Administrative Office of the Courts to provide facilities management services for all Southern California court facilities.

The three-year contract will bring court facilities from 10 counties and more than 180 sites under a single maintenance organization. Jacobs Engineering will provide maintenance services for approximately 12 million square feet of court space.

More than 450 California facilities are expected to transfer from county to state stewardship by June 2007, under the governance of the voter-approved AOC Judicial Council. The AOC hopes to create a one-tier trial court system, which will increase efficiency in court operations, enhance safety, security and access to California courts.

Jacobs Engineering has already assisted the AOC in facility condition assessments, master plans for long-term growth and the development of a five-year statewide capital outlay plan.
