Andres

Architecture, engineering and construction management firm Durrant hired Thomas R. Cox, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, as a principal at its Madison, Wis., firm. During his 30-year career, he has planned and designed numerous building types, including justice, commercial, residential and medical. Jody D. Andres, AIA, LEED AP, joined the firm as an architect. He has more than 14 years of architectural experience and will focus on project management, facilities assessment, public listening, needs assessment and budgeting.

The firm also hired Martin Sell, AIA, NCARB, MBA, as senior vice president and managing principal. He will oversee all of the company’s eastern offices and is responsible for the development and management of organizational issues companywide. He has more than 25 years of experience in architectural design, construction management, marketing and strategic planning.

Tufaro

After 16 years with the company, Woody Gregory, PE, CCM, retired from Heery International, a company that specializes in architecture, construction management, engineering, facility planning and management, and interior design. He joined Heery in 1999 after retiring from the military. Bob Derrick, PE, a senior manager with the company, will replace Gregory as the Washington area manager. In addition, Mark Tufaro, RA, was hired to lead the Philadelphia design practice for the company. He has more than 30 years of construction industry expertise, and most recently worked in a senior position for a design-build firm and has experience running his own practice.

Roxanne DeCostar returned to Minneapolis-based KKE Architects Inc. as a senior designer in the interiors group. With 28 years of experience in the design industry, she specializes in government, corporate, medical and educational environments.

Amirdelfan

Kaveh Amirdelfan, AIA, was promoted to partner of WWCOT, an architectural and design firm located in Santa Monica, Calif. He has experience directing multi-disciplinary architecture, construction and engineering teams.

Omniplan, a full-service architecture, interior architecture and planning firm, promoted David Williamson, AIA, to associate principal at the firm’s Dallas office. He was the senior design architect on many of the firm’s projects during the past 10 years. John Tran, AIA, LEED AP, was promoted to associate principal at the firm’s Phoenix office. Prior to joining the firm in 1999, he was an associate at PageSoutherlandPage in Dallas .

James Seaman, RA, LEED AP, of TMP Associates in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., passed his state licensing exams and received his architectural registration in the state of Michigan. He joined the firm in 2004 as a staff architect after spending four years with another architecture firm.

Brookstone LP, a Houston-based company that provides general contracting, construction management and design-build services, promoted Charles Reagan to vice president. He will focus on overall production operations. The company also promoted Scott Brown to vice president. He will focus on production, staff education, mentoring and information transfers.

Don Hanks, AIA, joined SFL+a Architects of Raleigh, N.C., as a project manager. He has more than 30 years of experience in the architectural industry and will manage and coordinate several projects nationwide.

Hunter Roberts Construction Group, a full-service construction management firm, hired Mark Sullivan as senior project manager at its New England regional office. He spent the last eight years with Payton Construction and the three years prior with T.R. White, and has completed both new construction and renovation projects within a variety of market sectors.

Rhonda Robinson joined Boyken International Inc., an international construction consulting firm, as senior project manager and project executive at the firm’s Houston office. She will oversee the management of client relationships, project planning and execution, cost control, contract negotiations, estimating, design, procurement and construction. In addition, Frank B. Mitchell joined as the director of cost management. In his new role, he will set cost control measures, develop cost-monitoring procedures and ensure that projects are completed within pre-established budget parameters.

Stephan Castellanos, FAIA, NCARB, joined NTDStichler Architecture as managing director of the new Visalia, Calif., office. He previously served a five-year term as California State Architect, and developed the Excellence in Public Buildings Program for sustainable building.

Dewberry, a firm specializing in engineering, architecture, program management, planning, geographic information and environmental services, welcomed Charles Stebbins, CPG, CHMM, as senior project manager in the environmental services branch. He has technical expertise in the investigation of contamination in soil and groundwater during construction. Ami Gulden, PWS, also joined the firm’s environmental services branch. She will assist in wetland delineations, stream studies and threatened and endangered species work for the firm.

Boston-based Suffolk Construction Company Inc. hired James Stukel as executive vice president and general manager. He has more than 23 years of construction experience including project management, estimating, field operations, sales and marketing and will be responsible for building and managing the firm’s new division of interiors. Joe Stamp, a senior project manager for the company was the recipient of the Core Value Award. The award is given annually to one of the more than 250 Suffolk Construction employees in Florida . Stamp has been with the company for five years and has more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry.

George Sellard joined Hunt Engineers, Architects & Land Surveyors P.C. in Horseheads, N.Y., as a technology designer. His experience includes telecommunications analysis at Corning Inc. and running his own IT business. In addition, Kristi Rathbun, PE, joined the team as a structural engineer. She has experience in structural engineering, structural analysis and designing structural systems for new and renovated buildings.

Steve Tredinnick, PE, was named vice president and chief engineer in the energy services division of Syska Hennessy Group, a firm specializing in consulting, engineering, technology and construction. He has more than 24 years of experience as a project and technical engineering manager and will be supported by the firm’s Princeton, N.J., office.

Sierra Detention Systems, a detention equipment and security electronics contractor, hired Kurt Potts as business development manager for western states.

McBride

Marlite, a manufacturer and distributor of commercial wall systems, appointed Kimberly McBride as chief financial officer at the company’s Dover, Ohio, office. She will be responsible for the complete financial organization of the company, including external and internal reporting, banking relationships and credit and data processing.

Memphis-based VP Buildings, a manufacturer of metal building systems, named Dennis Ford as the company’s new district manager for the Arkansas territory. He will be responsible for working with the company’s network of builders in Arkansas, North Louisiana and Eastern Oklahoma, and assisting them with building designs and supplying steel products.

Tindall Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of precast, prestressed concrete products and building systems located in Spartanburg, S.C., promoted Roger Knox to vice president of facilities and materials engineering. He has been with the company since 1983 and has experience with structural design, materials engineering, sales and product and process development. In addition, Bud Henry was promoted to vice president of purchasing. With more than 30 years of experience in the purchasing field, he has experience in developing procurement programs and negotiating purchase contracts.

L&M Construction Chemicals Inc., a manufacturer of concrete products headquartered in Omaha, Neb., hired Ruth Bright as a representative to extend and expedite communications with new and existing customers. She has more than 20 years of experience working in sales and communications, and spent the past five years working in sales with 4specs.com.

Gamewell-FCI of Northford, Conn., a Honeywell Life Safety division, hired Mark Wicks as southeast sales manager. He will focus on supporting the company’s engineered systems distributors in the sale, installation and maintenance of fire systems throughout Alabama , Georgia and Florida . Prior to his new position with the fire systems manufacturer, Wicks provided marketing and business development services for companies, including Ingersoll Rand and Ditek Corp.

San Francisco-based TOA Electronics Inc., a manufacturer of commercial audio and security products, appointed Atsuo Honda to president and CEO. He began his career with the company in 1978 and has been involved with research and development. In addition, Toshio Sakata was appointed to vice president of the company. He has held several positions with the company since joining in 1982, including export manager, managing director and sales and marketing.

Geerpres Inc., a designer and manufacturer of professional janitorial and sanitation equipment headquartered in Muskegon, Mich., promoted Jeff Kolbe to vice president of customer solutions. He has been with the company for four years and has more than 19 years of experience in customer service, project management, production planning and materials management.

Hirsch Electronics of Santa Ana, Calif., expanded its board of directors with the addition of two new members. Ayman S. Ashour joins the board with 25 years of experience in the security industry, including strategic and practical operations. He previously served as COO and CEO of the ASSA Abloy identification technology group. Douglas J. Morgan, CEO and chairman of Performance Strategies Inc., also joined the board. He has more than 30 years of experience in a range of business and leadership roles, including companies such as DynaMicro Inc. and Hewlett Packard.

Chip Rhodes joined St. Louis-based Arteco, a provider of intelligent video products for the security industry, as Southeaster regional sales manager. He most recently served as a district sales manager for IDenticard Systems in Lancaster, Pa.

Parksite Inc., a building materials distributor located in Batavia, Ill., appointed Kurt Dallesasse as director of purchasing for branded and specialty building products through the company’s three business units. He has more than 35 years of experience in the building industry, including establishing vendor relations programs.

In addition, Scott Gettelfinger was appointed to director of commercial sales. He has more than 20 years of business and manufacturing experience, working with DuPont in a series of sales and marketing, management and finance roles.

Dual-Lite of Greenville, S.C., a manufacturer of life safety products, named Ronnie Arant as its national brand sales manager. He will be the company’s primary contact with sales representative agencies, distributor customers, and the engineering and specifying community. Prior to joining the company, Arant spent 13 years with GE Lighting in a variety of positions.

United Coatings, a manufacturer of protective coatings, appointed Mike DiBenedetto director of business development at the company’s Tempe, Ariz., office. He has more than 15 years of experience in industrial coatings, contracting and manufacturing.

Marino/WARE, a manufacturer of steel-framing products headquartered in South Plainfield, N.J., announced several personnel changes. Jim DesLaurier was promoted from FrameRite Connectors manager to director of marketing at the company’s Griffin, Ga., office. Mike McKee accepted the position of director of steel purchasing at the East Chicago facility, where he will lead the purchasing department and implement buying strategies. Lisa Koops joined the Houston-based plant as a sales representative.

Bard Manufacturing Company of Bryan, Ohio, promoted Vaughan Smith to national sales manager of engineered products. He has more than 20 years of experience and will be responsible for promoting products and developing project specifications and expanding distribution.

Robert L. Beard, director of operations at Sloan Valve Company’s Augusta, Ark., facility, was honored by the Augusta Industrial Development Corporation as the Executive of the Year for his leadership of one of the most competitive brass foundries in the United States .

Angela DiTommaso joined Tremco Incorporated’s roofing and building maintenance division as a contracts and compliance manager. She will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing all policies, procedures and systems to ensure that commercial and government contracts are compliant with all applicable laws. She has been working with federal procurement and socio-economic policy for more than 20 years.

Ideal Industries Inc., a manufacturer of tools and supplies for the construction, maintenance and data communications industries, appointed John Spencer to national accounts manager of its Sycamore, Ill., office. He has more than nine years of experience in the electrical industry with a background in strategic distribution, market development and national marketing. Previously, he worked at Hubbell Lighting Inc. as a manager of strategic accounts and regional manager.

David Kroll was appointed to custom installation business development manager for the Marlboro, N.J., office of KEF, a manufacturer of speakers. He will oversee the company’s training and education initiatives, obtain feedback on existing and new product lines, strengthen dealer relationships and develop new marketing strategies. He has more than 20 years of experience in the consumer electronic industry having held positions in sales, marketing and product development.

Wausau Window and Wall Systems of Wausau, Wis., promoted Dave DeBettignies from sales and marketing representative to regional marketing and sales manager. In his new role, he will work with local representatives to support the commercial construction and renovation glazing needs of contractors, architects, consultants and building owners. He joined the company in 2000 after working as a service manager and marketing representative at Wausau Insurance.

Power Fasteners Inc., a manufacturer of concrete anchoring systems headquartered in Brewster, N.Y., made several staff changes to expand its sales capabilities. Michael Gaffigan was promoted to the new position of director of Latin American sales. He joined the company in 1994 as an applications engineer. T.J. Bland and Mark Mamula were appointed to branch sales manager for Florida . Bland spent nearly three years with Applied Research Laboratories before joining the company in 2003. Mamula was a sales representative with Hilti, Florida International Marketing and Brinker Brown Fastener & Supply Inc. before joining the company in 2001.

Facilities

Sam Cline was hired as the warden at Hutchinson Correctional Facility in Hutchinson, Kan. He started working for the state’s Department of Corrections in 1982 as a correctional officer and was promoted to deputy warden of operations. He most recently served as warden of Ellsworth Correctional Facility. Johnnie Goddard will now serve as warden of that facility.

The Kansas Department of Corrections hired Jennie Marsh as the director of victim services. She served as the DOC victim services coordinator for more than five years, and prior to that worked as a senior case advocate for Crisis Center Inc.

Derral Adams was appointed as warden of California State Prison, Corcoran. He previously served as warden of the Substance Abuse Treatment Facility at the prison from 2000 to 2006. From 1995 to 2000 he served as chief deputy warden for the Central California Women’s Facility.
