Paul T. Chastant II joined Carter Goble Lee LLC, of Columbia, S.C., as senior associate. A former director of facility services for the offices of youth and adult corrections services in Louisiana, he brings more than 20 years of experience with the design and construction of justice, corrections, healthcare and education facilities. Chastant is vice chair of the Construction Maintenance Institute for Correctional Justice Agencies and has served on the CMI’s board of directors since 2001.

Durrant appointed William Echols as director of business development and Steven Defelippi as project manager at the architecture, engineering and planning firm’s new Atlanta office

Ricci Greene Associates, a justice design and planning firm, appointed Jared Altobello as a designer at the firm’s Lexington, Ky., office. Altobello will manage and participate in RGA’s planning, programming and design projects. He previously served as a designer at JRA Architects and Design Lab Inc.

Michael B. Kennedy, Jr. was appointed President of KAI Design & Build, a St. Louis-based design/build company that works in the corrections market and several other markets. Kennedy’s father will remain chief executive officer of the firm.

Facility Group promoted Ennis Parker to chief executive officer for the Atlanta office of the program management, design and construction firm. She has been with the firm since 2002.

HMN Architects Inc., a full-service architectural and interior design firm headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., promoted Steve Davis to principal. Davis has more than 20 years of experience and will lead the firm’s justice design team. HMN also promoted Shawn Harding and Earl Wilson to senior associate. Harding has more than 20 years of experience in justice design and will be involved in all aspects of the design process. Wilson specializes in courthouse design and has experience in project development and facility master planning.

Dewberry, a national consulting firm based in Fairfax, Va., announced several promotions. S. Allen Groover, PE, David S. Maxwell, PE, and Daniel R. Koenlgshofer, PE, were named vice president; Donald R. Burroughs, PE, was named senior associate; and Robert A. Wolff, PE, CHFM, and Charles T. Worthy, Jr. were named associate.

PSA-Dewberry, a building services affiliate of Dewberry with offices throughout the United States, announced the promotion of James Cross, AIA, CSI, to principal at the Naperville, Ill., office; Michael McLaren, PE, was promoted to senior associate at the Peoria, Ill., office; Marlene Shade, AIA, LEED AP, of the Fairfax, Va., office and Craig Swengle, PE, of the Tulsa, Okla., office were appointed to associate principal.

Joseph Lee Coyle, AIA, LEED AP, joined Cannon Design, an architectural, engineering and planning firm, as an associate principal for the company’s Baltimore office. He has 18 years of experience in various markets.

Harley Ellis Devereaux Corp. hired Heather Nauss, CHEF, SMPS, AIA, as business development manager and Dennis Mika, AIA, as a senior architectural designer, both will work out of the company’s Chicago office.

Hollis + Miller, an architectural firm with offices in Kansas and Missouri, hired Amy Smith as an interior designer; Jason Bahr, PE, as a structural engineer; Win Gregg as a project engineer; and Kim Moritz as an administrative assistant.

The St. Louis office of Walton Construction announced the promotion of Tom Kaiman, LEED AP, to vice president of operations; Steven Frisbee to manager of facilities and administration; and Nathan Wever, LEED AP, to assistant project manager. Kaiman will handle personnel issues, contract compliance and oversee financial and safety of current projects. Frisbee will develop policies and procedures related to facility management, fleet management, office equipment and small tools. Wever will assist with contracts, project budgets, scheduling and material procurement.

San Antonio-based security electronics integrator MCS Detention promoted Jim Gables to president. Formerly vice president of sales and marketing, Gables has more than 27 years experience in the electronic security and detention industry. The company also promoted David Beeler to vice president. Beeler has 17 years of technical and sales experience with security electronics and control systems for the corrections market.

Brijot Imaging Systems Inc., a manufacturer of passive millimeter wave concealed object screening technology based in Orlando, Fla., appointed John Marsala tovice president of sales. He has more than 25 years of experience in sales.

TOA Electronics Inc., a San Francisco-based electronics provider, announced that Joe Aquilato, northeastern region sales manager audio products division, and Dan Shore, western region sales manager audio products division, were awarded the certified sales professional designation as a result of successfully completing a comprehensive professional selling skills course and passing the certification examinations.

CompuDyne Completes Norshield Hart Transplant

CompuDyne promoted Gary Hart to president of Alabama-based Norshield Security Products. Hart began his career with the company in 1987 as a project manager at Norment Security Group and has served as vice president of marketing since 2005.

“With 21 years of experience in the Norment family, there are few leaders who have a better understanding of this industry and the customers we serve,” says Bernie Demko, CEO of parent company CompuDyne Corporation. “The combination of Gary’s strong operational base and commercially driven market-facing orientation uniquely qualifies him for this position.”

Norment promoted Steve Stonehouse to director of marketing.

Jacqueline K. Clark was hired by Ash Grove Cement Co., a Kansas-based cement company, to serve as director of communications and public affairs. The company produces nearly 9 million tons of cement annually for a variety of projects.

Allsteel Inc., a manufacturer of workplace furniture based in Muscatine, Iowa, hired Allison Blaue-Lennox, as a business development manager. She has more than five years of sales experience and will focus on the north central region.

Solar Semiconductor, a producer of solar photovoltaic technology based in Sunnyvale, Calif., hired Perry G. Hayes as its chief financial officer. Hayes has more than 32 years of experience with corporate finance.

David Shaner was promoted to sales manager for North American Specialty Glass, a safety and security glazing systems manufacturer. Shaner will work at the Trumbauersville, Pa., office and will be responsible for sales and marketing for the D-FenceGlas and VigilGard lines.

Insulfoam, a manufacturer of block-molded EPS insulation, promoted Pat McGrady to president. He will be responsible for expanding the company’s market share and focus on roofing, below-grade and below-slab insulation markets and Geofoam applications. The company also promoted Rich Holen to manger, strategic business development for the Tacoma, Wash., office. He will be responsible for maintaining and expanding the company’s national markets, focusing on roofing and below-grade insulation opportunities. Barbara Catlow was promoted to director of marketing communications for the Dryvit and Triarch product lines, which offer exterior insulation and finishing products. Catlow has about 25 years of experience and will be based in the West Warwich, R.I., office where she will be responsible for marketing communications.

Dow Corning Corp., a manufacturer of silicone-based products, named Doug Kempf construction application engineering and technical services manager. He will be responsible for managing day-to-day technical activities for the company’s North and South American operations.

Steven Barrow joined Sutter Roofing, an industrial roofing company based in Sarasota, Fla., as director of business development.

Vicon Industries Inc., a designer and manufacturer of video surveillance systems, hired Marcus Stair as the territory manager for Northern California and parts of Nevada.

Pro-Link, a janitorial supply, marketing and buying company, hired Brian Slack as vice president of sales for the Canton, Mass., office.
