PSA-Dewberry promoted Jim Beight to senior principal at the firm’s office in Fairfax, Va. Beight is director of courthouse design. The firm also promoted Don Wertzberger and Brad Hall to principal. Wertzberger is director of public safety architecture, overseeing needs assessments, planning and design phases for all PSA-Dewberry’s public safety projects. Hall, who is a project manager, has 36 years of industry experience and specializes in correctional facilities. John Bisinger and Tim Kraft, LEED AP, were promoted to principal.

Norment Security Group hired Paul Parks as national director of marketing for service operations. Parks joins Norment from Otis Elevator, where he worked for the last seven years.

Merrick & Company, an architectural, engineering and construction management services firm based in Aurora, Colo., promoted Phil Voegtle to director of architectural and engineering technical services. Voegtle, who has been with the firm for 11 years, he will supervise architectural, engineering and technical operations and discipline leaders and manage the firm’s technical resources. The company also hired Matt West, PLS, as director of surveying and Glenn Dal Collo as a field service coordinator for the firm’s facilities commissioning service unit.

Cutler Associates, a design and construction firm headquartered in Massachusetts, appointed Ernest O’Brien as president. O’Brien joined the company as executive vice president in 2007. Frederic Mulligan, PE, DBIA, president for 25 years, will serve as chairman.

Ricci Greene Associates, a full-service architecture firm specializing in justice facilities, promoted Laura Maiello to associate principal. Maiello, who works out of the firm’s New York headquarters, has more than 20 years of experience in the justice market.

Agus Rusli, AIA, LEED AP, joined Perkins+Will as associate principal and director of design. Rusli, who will lead design efforts in the Dallas and Houston offices, previously led his own Pittsburgh-based firm.

Brian A. Kite, AIA, was named corporate and commercial studio leader at the Los Angeles office of architectural firm Harley Ellis Devereaux.

Leo A Daly, an international architecture, planning and engineering firm, hired Jennifer Conrad as director of business development. The firm also hired Mark Griffith, NCARB, LEED AP, as vice president and managing principal for its Los Angeles office. 

HDR Inc., an employee-owned architectural, engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Omaha, Neb., named Newton Chase managing principal of its San Francisco office.

International architectural, engineering and planning firm Cannon Design hired Kevin A. Spady, AIA, LEED AP, as principal. The firm also promoted Martha Ball to associate principal. Ball is science and technology leader at the firm’s Los Angeles office.

International architectural firm Perkins Eastman announced the promotion of Jerry Walleck to principal at the firm’s Chicago office. The firm also promoted Omar Calderon (Va.), Christine Albright (N.Y.), Christine Schlendor (N.Y.), David Hutchinson (Conn.) and Lynne Rizk (Conn.) to associate principal.

Shawmut Design and Construction, a Boston-based construction management firm, promoted Brian Stys to the newly created position of vice president of marketing and business development.

McCarthy Building Companies Inc., a construction company based in Newport Beach, Calif., hired James D. Madrid to serve as director of business development for its Southern California divisions.

Branch & Associates Inc., a Virginia-based general contracting, design-build and construction management firm, promoted Catherine Underwood to vice president of construction management.

Tishman Construction Corp., a New York-based construction company, hired Peter Marchetto as president of construction operations.

Matt Ambrose joined Projects and Construction Services Inc., a construction management firm based in Cleveland.

Former Mecklenburg County Sheriff Jim Pendergraph joined the management team of Keith & Keith Corrections, a national provider of facility maintenance services based in Charlotte, N.C.

AECOM named Paul Garrison, PE, director of justice and public safety projects, vice president of the firm’s office in Virginia Beach, Va. Director of engineering Brian Vodzak, PE, was named associate vice president. The company promoted architecture manager Wayne Mortimer, LEED AP, to associate principal. Construction services and administration manager Paul Correia, CCCA, was named senior associate.

High Concrete Group LLC, a manufacturer of architectural facades and precast structures, named Kevin Iddings general manager of Midwest operations with responsibility for the company’s Springboro, Ohio, and Paxton, Ill., plants.

Marc Papillon was named technical services manager for the eastern region at Gerflor, a manufacturer of vinyl resilient floor coverings. Papillon has worked in the flooring industry since 1971.

Wausau Window and Wall Systems, a Wisconsin-based engineering firm specializing in institutional construction applications, named Tom Mifflin as market manager for government and military projects.

Sol Inc., a provider of LED lighting based in Florida, announced the appointment of Susan Schierwagen as vice president of worldwide sales.

Tremco Roofing, a provider of roofing and weatherproofing products based in Beachwood, Ohio, promoted Kurt Sosinski, RRC, CDT, to director of product management.

Activar Construction Products Group, headquartered in Bloomington, Minn., promoted Greg Kamman to national sales manager and Carl Coleman to Midwest regional sales representative.

Mestek Inc., a Massachusetts-based company specializing in HVAC technologies, hired Andrew Dirats as engineering manager for its hydronic HVAC product lines.

Krieger Specialty Products, a Los Angeles-based manufacturer of security- and acoustic-enhanced custom doors and windows, named Bob Carpenter as national technical consultant.

Mohawk Group, a Georgia-based manufacturer of carpeting, named Keith Gray as director of technical marketing. He will focus on expanding the company’s expertise in evidence-based research and design for all institutional market segments.

Vince Throckmorton joined St. Louis-based Control Technology and Solutions as an account executive security specialist. He has 25 years of experience in the electronic security industry.

GE Security promoted Bob Hood to the newly created position of national security specialist for the company’s GE Homeland Protection division. The position expands his previous corrections-focused responsibilities to encompass all market sectors.

MTI hired Lee Attaway to manage the Columbia, S.C., office of its security electronics installation division Montgomery Technology Systems.

ORGANIZATIONS

The U.S. Green Building Council named Christopher Pyke research director. Pyke, who previously worked for CTG Energetics, of Irvine, Calif., contributed technical support during the development of LEED v3.

The Design-Build Institute of America named Lisa Washington, CAE, executive director following the retirement of president and CEO Lee Evey.
