After years of delay, funds available to fix historic Joe Wheeler home (The Florence Times-Daily)

By Deangelo McDaniel, Of The Decatur Daily After years of lobbying and planning, the Alabama Historical Commission finally has enough money to restore Gen. Joseph Wheeler’s home. And if everything goes as planned, it’s possible the nearly 6,000-square-foot home will reopen to the public some time in late 2011.
