Joe Pastor

Joe Pastor, M.D., was promoted to chief mental health officer at Corizon. In his new position, he will supervise the company’s behavioral health care team and offer consultation for patient care and mental health staff in jails and prisons. He will also provide consult to the company’s psychiatrists nationwide and serve on its specialty panel of physicians. Pastor has worked in correctional health care since 1997, serving in facilities in Ohio and Colorado. He joined the firm as associate chief mental health officer and chief of psychiatry. He was then appointed to vice president of the behavioral health unit in 2011. Pastor earned his medical degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine and completed fellowships in child and adolescent psychiatry at Brown University and Harvard University. He served as president of the Colorado Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Society and is a certified Correctional Health Professional.
