AJA Conference Finishes Strong in Michigan

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The American Jail Association’s (AJA) 32nd Annual Training Conference and Jail Expo was held May 5-9 in Grand Rapids. The event was brought on by the association, with support from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office in Kent County, Mich.

As the largest conference created for jail professionals, according to AJA, attendees and exhibitors were invited to more than 40 workshops that covered a variety of topics including security, health care, inmate management, threat groups and a special “hot topics” section.

Along with the workshops, those registered for the event were also welcome to take a tour of the Kent County Correctional Facility.

With over 60 presenters during the event, attendees were able to gather valuable information as it pertains to the jail industry. The tradeshow floor also showcased some of the latest products and services being provided to jails and other correctional facilities across the country. Video visitation, inmate payment systems, restraints and design solutions were just a few of the many offerings being presented in the exhibit hall.
