The Kentucky Department of Corrections has announced the promotion of Kristin Smith to branch manager for the department’s re-entry and home incarceration branch. Smith first began her correctional career in 2007, and most recently served as program administrator for DOC’s Victim Services Branch. She currently serves on the Kentucky Victims Assistance Academy Steering Committee, the DOC’s Re-entry Committee, and is a 2012 graduate of the Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program. She received her Bachelor of Science in sociology from Western Kentucky University, and has also served as a pretrial officer, drug court case special and Child Protective Services Case Manager.
