Craig Webre

The Louisiana Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers has selected Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre as its 2014 Public Official of the Year. Webre was presented with the award on April 9 at the association’s annual state conference in Baton Rouge, La. Webre was also named Public Official of the Year in 2013 for the organization’s Houma-Thibodaux region. Webre was recognized primarily for creating the Police Social Service section and the PACT Place, the nation’s only law enforcement-supervised child visitation center. Sheriff Webre was also commended for his work with the D.A.R.E program and the Lafourche Parish Drug Court.
