HMC Architects has promoted Kyle Peterson, AIA, LEED AP to managing principal of the firm’s San Diego office where he is responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of the studio. Previously serving as principal-in-charge in HMC’s Ontario, Calif. office, Peterson’s move comes at a time when the firm is taking important steps to invest in the future of its San Diego studio and overall position in the region. Since joining HMC in 2001, Peterson has earned an amazing reputation with the clients he serves in the firm’s civic and education markets. He began his career as a designer, and eventually moved into project management and project architect roles. In the last five years, he’s been largely involved in the active pursuit of new work, and management and development of large civic projects and Pre—K-12 projects. A graduate of California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, Peterson received his Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2000.
