Mary-Jean Eastman

Mary-Jean Eastman, FAIA, vice chair of Perkins Eastman and managing principal of its New York City studio, will share lessons and takeaways from her journey building a global design giant at the fourth annual Women in Design+Construction (WIDC) Conference, which takes place November 11-13 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess resort in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Formed in 1981 in New York City, Perkins Eastman is a global architecture firm with a portfolio of work in numerous sectors including civic projects. The company has grown to include 1,000 employees in 17 offices worldwide.

Eastman and Barbara Mullenex, AIA, Managing Principal of the Washington, D.C., studio,

will discuss the twists, turns, setbacks and surprises they’ve faced through their long, glass-shattering careers—particularly as women in a field traditionally dominated by men—

and how they not only met those challenges, but made a positive impact along the way

Eastman will also participate in an AEC Firm Founders & CEOs panel at WIDC, which will give the audience an opportunity to get answers to their questions directly from women leaders who have paved the way for future generations.
