Ohio Considers Selling Five Prisons
RAFTON, Ohio — Gov. John Kasich is expected to announce a state budget plan that includes the sale of five state prisons. The new budget would take effect July 1.
Under the plan, Grafton Correctional Institution and North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility, a substance-abuse treatment center, would be sold as a package deal.
MTC Signs $383 Million Contract With Texas
RAYMONDVILLE, Texas — Management & Training Corp. will continue to manage a 540-bed federal detention facility in Willacy County after the U.S. Marshals Service agreed to a multi-year contract renewal valued at up to $383 million.
Under the terms of the contract, the Utah-based private prison operator and programming services provider will continue to operate the Willacy County Regional Detention Facility for the Marshals Service for at least five years.
