LCD MONITORS

Samsung Electronics, in partnership with United Kingdom-based Aasset Security, introduces the SMT171P and the SMT190P, 17- and 19-inch LCD monitors with flat display screens for use with security dome cameras and similar pan-tilt zoom systems.


The product delivers images equal to 500 TVL, with a brightness of 300 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 700:1. The monitor can achieve a resolution of 1280×1024 and offers an aspect ratio of 16/9 or 4/3. Two video inputs and outputs are included.


The monitor comes with a tempered glass screen to protect the LCD display panel.

LCD Television

TV One offers wall-mountable, 7″ flat-screen television monitors that can be sold to inmates as a behavioral incentive. The space-saving units support worldwide TV standards and satisfy a wide variety of viewing applications, including cable or programs approved by the institution.

The low-radiation and low power-consumption units are available in a transparent casing that hinders inmates from using the units to conceal contraband. Optional mounting kits have no removable parts, the company says. The units can also be used with headphones.

Power-Supply Line

North American Video is now offering a line of 24VAC power supplies. The new power supply line includes eight models designed to provide power for locations with four to 16 cameras. All of the new units feature “Smartfuses” that automatically reset once the overload condition ceases.

In addition to eliminating the need for conventional glass fuses, the “Smartfuse” saves installers time and expense of having to physically reset the units, which can be located at multiple remote sites in large CCTV systems.
