HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Cornerstone Detention Products announced on April 9 that it has signed an agreement to acquire the Norment Security Group from The Gores Group, a Los Angeles‐based investment firm. Financial terms of the transaction have not yet been disclosed.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Detention equipment contractor Norment Security Group continued its recent strategy for expanding market presence with the acquisition of security and life safety electronics manufacturer and integrator Engineered Control Systems.
Although the terms of the deal were not disclosed, the acquisition of Engineered Control Systems enhances Norment’s product offerings and market presence, particularly in fire alarm systems segment of the market.
Norshield Splits from Norment Security
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Norshield Security Products separated from affiliates Norment Security Group and Fiber Sensys after Norshield leadership engineered a management buy-out from parent company Compudyne.
The deal, which was structured as a stock sale and announced in December, initiated a complete separation of Norshield from CompuDyne and all its affiliated companies. The Norshield management team acquired the company with the backing of Minneapolis private-equity group Spell Capital Partners.
