Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Secretary John Wetzel has named George Little director of the state’s Community Based Correction Program. In his new role, Little will oversee operations at the 15 state-run community corrections centers and more than 40 contract facilities. From 2005 to 2009 Little was Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Corrections and he most recently served as chief administrative officer and chief of staff for the City of Memphis.
Architectural products manufacturer Kane Innovations Inc., has hired Mac Hines as vice president of sales for all Kane Innovations brands. In this role, he will oversee all sales and marketing activity for Sterling Dula Railings, Kane Security Screens, Kane Detention and Kane Fabrications. Hines is a building-materials veteran and brings 23 years of sales and marketing experience to the team.
Kris Weitzell is once again the new warden of the Newton Correctional Facility (NCF) in Newton, Iowa. Weitzell is a 30-year veteran of the Iowa Department of Corrections and previously served as warden at NCF for roughly nine years beginning in the late 1990s. Most recently she was warden of the Fort Dodge Correctional Facility, prior to which she served as superintendent of the Clarinda Correctional Facility.
Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, promoted Chris Getz, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, to associate in the firm’s Orlando, Fla., office. As a member of the firm’s architectural group, Getz specializes in courts and public safety design. Throughout his nine years of experience, he has planned, programmed, designed and performed construction administration for new buildings and renovations.
The North Carolina Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice has named David Mitchell as the director of its Mountain Region prisons, overseeing 15 prison facilities in the state’s western region. Mitchell is a 28-year corrections veteran who most recently served as administrator at Lanesboro Correctional Institution.
