Project of the Year
The Project of the Year Award recognizes a standout corrections or justice facility that represents the highest standards of planning, design and construction.
Eligibility
Eligible projects must have been completed and/or opened after June 1, 2025, and serve a corrections- or justice-related function.
Selection Process
Nominees will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Design and Planning Excellence: Integration of operational efficiency, security requirements and human-centered design principles
- Innovation and Forward-Thinking Solutions: Implementation of new technologies, delivery strategies or programmatic approaches that advance the field
- Construction Quality and Performance: Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding project benchmarks for schedule, budget and quality
- Operational Effectiveness: Evidence that the facility supports staff performance, safety and improved outcomes for occupants
- Community and System Impact: Contribution to broader justice system goals, including rehabilitation, reentry and community integration
How to Nominate
Correctional News welcomes nominations from peers, colleagues and industry professionals.
To nominate, please complete the nomination form when the voting period opens, including detailed justification and supporting materials such as project descriptions, performance data or professional accomplishments. Multiple nominations for the same candidate are accepted. Anonymous submissions will not be considered.
