Handheld Threat Detector

Smiths Detection recently launched the SABRE 5000 model, a handheld system capable of detecting trace amounts of narcotics, explosives, toxic industrial substances, and chemical warfare agents. Expanding on the SABRE 4000 design, the newer model features a tri-mode detector, allowing it to examine a larger surface area and speed up throughput. Considered the smallest and lightest tri-mode detector on the market, the detector is programmed to identify more than 40 threat substances within 20 seconds, according to the company.
