Correctional News is proud to recognize the next generation of industry leadership through the Emerging Leaders Award. This distinction honors professionals who, early in their careers, are already demonstrating exceptional leadership, innovation and influence across the corrections and justice landscape.
Eligibility
Nominees must have fewer than 10 years of experience in the corrections and justice industry and be employed by an A/E/C firm, vendor, subcontractor, manufacturer or facility owner/operator. Candidates must demonstrate a clear trajectory of leadership and measurable contributions to advancing projects, operations or industry practices.
Selection Process
Nominees will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Demonstrated Leadership and Initiative: Evidence of taking ownership, leading teams or driving key decisions beyond expected career level
- Innovation and Problem-Solving: Contributions to new approaches, technologies or processes that improve project delivery, operations or outcomes
- Industry Engagement and Growth: Active participation in professional organizations, mentorship or continuing education that contributes to the broader field
- Impact and Measurable Results: Clear examples of how their work has influenced project success, organizational performance or improved outcomes within corrections environments
One winner will be selected from the Corrections Professionals category, and one winner will be selected from the A/E/C and Vendor Category.

Correctional News welcomes nominations from peers, colleagues and industry professionals.
To nominate, please complete the nomination form when the voting period opens, including detailed justification and supporting materials such as project descriptions, performance data or professional accomplishments. Multiple nominations for the same candidate are accepted. Anonymous submissions will not be considered.
