Product of the Year

This award honors innovation that improves the safety, security, operational efficiency, resilience, health, wellness, or performance of public safety environments and the professionals who operate within them. 

Eligibility 

Eligible products may include solutions related to: 

  • Correctional facilities and detention environments  
  • Law enforcement and public safety facilities  
  • Security and access control systems  
  • Safety technologies and equipment  
  • Facility operations and maintenance  
  • Behavioral health and wellness support  
  • Sustainability and resiliency  
  • Communications and emergency response  
  • Furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E)  
  • Building products, materials, and systems  
  • Technology platforms and integrated solutions  

Entries should demonstrate clear value to owners, operators, officers, staff, occupants, or communities through innovation, performance, scalability, reliability, or operational outcomes. 

Selection Process 

Nominated products will be evaluated based on: 

  • Innovation and differentiation  
  • Industry relevance and need  
  • Measurable impact or outcomes  
  • Operational or lifecycle benefits  
  • Contribution to safety, security, or wellness  
  • Ease of implementation or integration  
  • Long-term value to the public safety sector  

Products must have been introduced, significantly updated, or deployed within the eligibility period of July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026. 

How to Nominate 

Correctional News welcomes nominations from peers, colleagues and industry professionals.  

To nominate, please complete the nomination form when the voting period opens, including detailed justification and supporting materials such as project descriptions, performance data or professional accomplishments. Multiple nominations for the same candidate are accepted. Anonymous submissions will not be considered.
