Perimeter Solutions Inc. offers the Secotec Multisensor Perimeter Intrusion Detection System utilizing a standard twisted-pair copper cable as a detection sensor. The cable, which is attached to a standard mesh or barbed wire fence or placed underground, reacts to mechanical stress induced by climbing, spreading, or cutting.

Oldcastle Security offers two new additions to its perimeter security product line, with Guardtower, a non-lethal fence sensing device, and IP6000, an induced pulse high-voltage security electric fence controller. Guardtower detects wire movement in any direction, including in and out, side to side and wire spread caused by climbing. It also detects cut wire or a severed communications link.

Oldcastle Security added Perimbar, an infrared perimeter security system, to their line of perimeter protection products. The system uses prewired towers, which stand between 1 meter and 5 meters high and have a range of up to 50 feet. The towers contain transmitters that collect energy from receivers up to 492 feet away.

When an intruder breaks these beams, an alarm is set off. It cannot be covered, masked or blocked without setting off the alarm. The system can be added to an existing physical barrier by placing it inside of or on top of the perimeter.

ICX New Heights manufactures the Sky Watch line of mobile platforms for surveillance, assessment and response for correctional, commercial, military and government applications.

All units rise to a height of two stories and provide 360-degree visibility. Platforms can be configured to support electro-optic and other types of sensors for continuous, unmanned surveillance. Units can be outfitted with full command and control capability.

For situations requiring a line of sight above two stories, the Sentinel model offers an additional 4 feet of height.

Perimeter Products Inc. announces the FPS-5, the newest addition to its family of fence-mounted intrusion detection sensors and systems. The unit’s processor communicates all alarm and supervision information, as well as audio, on the same integral fiber transponder. This fiber communication method, which interleaves signals and audio outputs, is a proprietary design that eliminates the need for any additional fiber communication boards.

Magal-Senstar Inc. supplies Perimitrax, a covert perimeter intrusion detection security sensor that works by generating an electromagnetic radio frequency detection field around buried sensor cables. The system identifies intruders moving through the field based on their mass and movement, providing advanced warning to security forces of an intrusion or escape attempt. Its sensor cables can be used for power distribution, data collection and communication, remote sensor test and calibration, and remote control of auxiliary sensors and devices.

Senstar-Stellar, a supplier of outdoor perimeter breakthrough-detection security products and systems, now offers an interior-security microphonic cable sensor for walls and roofs.

E3i adapts Senstar-Stellar’s strain-sensitive microphonic cable technology used on outdoor perimeter fencing to the specialized requirements of detecting impacts to metal, wood or masonry materials.

The sensor cable is mounted to the interior surface and is monitored for signals corresponding to shock and impact when an escapee or intruder attempts to cut, smash, crush or saw through a surface.

Perimitrax from Senstar Stellar is a covert perimeter intrusion detection sensor that generates an invisible electromagnetic field around buried sensor cables. If an intruder disturbs the field, an alarm is declared.

Perimitrax uses a large volumetric field to detect moving targets above ground based on their electrical conductivity, size and movement. Unless a target possesses the minimum alarm characteristics, it will not be detected.

LightForce fiber optic sensor systems from Master Halco measure a signal across six different levels of the light spectrum. Along with intensity, the systems consider attributes such as color, frequency, bandwidth and temperature. This enables a LightForce installation to discriminate between actual intrusions and a variety of other disturbances. A LightForce perimeter installation involves three key components: a polymer-based fiber optic cable, a receiver and a transmitter that create a security solution that integrates with most alarm-monitoring systems.
