Safety Vests

Radians offers a new line of safety vests for construction, safety gear and job site supply distributors. Made for law enforcement, emergency response and construction zone crews, the Radwear vest line is Class 2 ANSI rated. It is available in polyester mesh to close-weaved knit in Hi-Viz orange or green.


Two-inch reflective stripes are on the front and back of the vests, providing increased visibility for day and night work. The vests feature an adjustable front closure with hook and loop fastening material and elastic side straps.

Protective Garment

DuPont Tychem QC for Corrections was designed specifically for the corrections market and cell extraction to protect against biohazards and viral contaminants when working with inmates. It features taped seams and secure zippers, and is made with fabric and seams that pass the ASTM guidelines for resistance to bloodborne viruses.


The garment is available in low-visibility gray to provide contrast against inmate clothing. It is oversized to fit over protective gear, including stab-resistant vests, elbow pads and lower leg protection.

ESCAPE HOOD

The Parat-C, a smoke escape hood for fire victims, is available from Draeger Safety Inc.


Designed for self-rescue and victim evacuation purposes, the hood protects the wearer for a minimum of 15 minutes from smoke, carbon monoxide and toxic gases usually present during a fire.


The product is made from flame-retardant PVC materials and is bright orange in color, to aid in visibility. The hood comes with a viewing panel treated with anti-misting agents and does not include a mouthpiece, so the wearer can breath and speak normally.

PERSONAL ALARM

Actall Corp. offers the Personal Alarm Location Systems 9000 and L2L, the most recent additions to its line of personal duress systems. The units use handheld devices known as personal mobile transmitters that utilize both radio frequency and infrared signals to locate persons in duress situations.


The handheld device is designed to set off a “man down” alarm when the panic button is pressed, the breakaway cord is pulled, or the device is tilted more than 60 degrees.

The Gamewell Company, a division of Honeywell, is a manufacturer of commercial fire-alarm control panels and emergency life-safety systems. The firm recently announced the Flex 400 Series of Conventional Panels. The new line of conventional panels is designed for any size building.

All four panels in the Flex series can be configured for new installations, retrofits or combination installations. The series includes the Flex 402, Flex 404, Flex 405, and Flex 410. The Flex 402 and 404, suited for small installations and compatible with System Sensor’s i3 detectors.

Wireless Body Alarm System

Grace Industries offers a body alarm system using a base unit the size of a briefcase as an infrastructure, making the system easy to install, reducing the need for repeaters, and eliminating wiring.

Ideal for retrofits, the wireless SM2000 Command Base and PA2000 personal alarm are suited to any size institution, the company says. Both audio and visual indications are sent to central control. Pagers also receive an ID signal from the alarm source.
