Tony Parker

Tony Parker was recently named commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Corrections (TDOC). He now leads the team of more than 6,000 correctional professionals responsible for overseeing 110,000 offenders in prisons and on community supervision statewide. Parker began his career with TDOC as a correctional officer at the Lake County Regional Correctional Facility, rising through the ranks before being named warden at Northwest Correctional Complex in 2003.

Derrick Schofield

Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) Commissioner Derrick Schofield will resign from his post at the end of June to join The GEO Group Inc. as the company’s new executive vice president for continuum of care. Schofield has led the TDOC since the start of Gov. Bill Haslam’s administration in 2011 and has been an integral voice in shaping the governor’s public safety agenda.

Michael Arndt

Michael Arndt has been named superintendent of the Mother Lode Regional Juvenile Detention Facility in Tuolumne County, Wash., set to open in December. Arndt has been a county employee for nine years, including four years as a probation officer. He has also received training in forensic child interviewing and social work. In his new role, Arndt will be responsible for management, staffing and scheduling of the 30-bed, co-ed facility.

Edward Thomas

Edward Thomas will replace Carlton Joyner as warden of the Raleigh Central Prison in Raleigh, N.C., following Joyner’s promotion to deputy director of prisons for auxiliary services. Thomas began his corrections career as a correctional officer at the facility 24 years ago after his graduation from Sanford High School. He has served as the facility’s associate warden for operations since 2014 and has had several other jobs at the prison and within the state prison system.

Leslie Keisel

Sterling Correctional Facility Facility Parole Officer (FPO), Leslie Keisel received the Tom Clements Memorial Award May 4 during National Corrections Officer and Employee Appreciation Week. Sam Cline

Sam Cline, warden of the Kansas Department of Corrections Hutchinson Correctional Facility, will become warden of the Lansing Correctional Facility effective June 18. Lansing Correctional Facility is the largest prison in Kansas. Cline has served in his current role since 2007, prior to which he was warden of the state’s Ellsworth Correctional Facility for four years.

Dean Williams was confirmed as the new commissioner of the Alaska Department of Corrections earlier this month. Williams recently co-authored an administrative review of the department, and will now lead its more than 2,000 employees. He brings more than 30 years of justice experience to his new position, having worked for 12 years as a juvenile justice officer and five years with the state’s Department of Law.

Nolan brings 35 years of experience in strategic planning, architectural design and leadership.
