Explosives Detection Device

Sense Holdings Inc. announces the creation of the first handheld explosives detection device in a planned new line of detection devices based on the company’s proprietary micro electro-mechanical systems technology. The new portable unit is capable of detecting TNT and PETN.

Sense Holdings is developing the new line of detection products under a research and development partnership with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, which is operated by the U.S. Department of Energy. The photo above depicts a demonstration prototype of the device, which is not yet on the market, and a design of what the product might look like when it is available for commercial use. The unit will be about 5 inches long when it is available for purchase, according to the company.
