Turner Recognizes CCC Group With Excellence Award
HOUSTON — Turner Construction honored the contribution of CCC Group Inc.’s Detention Systems Division, with the Excellence Award for Quality at a recent subcontractor appreciation dinner in Houston.
CCC Group received the award in recognition of its work as detention equipment contractor on the Fort Bend County Jail expansion in Richmond, Texas, which was completed in September.
The CCC team, which included Whit Pilcher, senior project manager; Fred Flores, CCC project manager; Eddie Pinnell, CCC project coordinator; and Scott Smola, CCC superintendent, worked closely with Andy Tandon, Turner project manager, and the rest of the Turner team to furnish and install a comprehensive detention equipment package valued at $9.8 million.
“In the beginning there were issues on the project, and the key is how well the issues are addressed and overcome,” Tadon says. “Their team did an excellent job maintaining the specification requirement and the jobsite manpower and quality control.”
The DEC scope of work included security hollow metal doors, frames, ceiling and wall panels, mezzanine-level metal stairs and rails, security hardware, furnishings and accessories, plumbing and light fixtures, and security glazing.
