AECOM Acquires Tishman in $245 Million Deal
LOS ANGELES — AECOM Technology completed the $245 million acquisition of construction management services firm Tishman Construction in a move designed to develop the group’s integrated-project delivery capabilities.
AECOM’s cash and stock acquisition of New York-based Tishman will allow the Los Angeles-based provider of professional, technical and management support services to expand its presence in the construction management/program management markets.
“We are expanding our portfolio of global expertise and enhancing our ability to meet the growing customer demand for turnkey solutions, including integrated design, engineering and construction services,” says John Dionisio, AECOM President and CEO.
Specializing in construction management services, Tishman also provides program management and other construction-related services to public and private-sector clients across a range of markets.
“We have worked in partnership with AECOM for many years and now look forward to Tishman becoming the cornerstone of AECOM’s construction management practice,” says Dan Tishman, who will continue to head Tishman’s operations as vice chairman and board member at AECOM.
As part of a joint venture with AECOM, Tishman is providing construction management services for the new Department of Homeland Security headquarters building in Washington. HOK and WDG Architecture are providing design services for the project, which is scheduled for completion by 2016.
