Federal prison in Mendota on track to open in 2011

MENDOTA, Calif. (AP) – A long-delayed federal prison in the farm town of Mendota is slated to an open in early 2011. Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Felicia Ponce says the 1,152-bed medium-security prison already has a warden and a growing number of staff members.
