Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice Commissioner Avery Niles has announced he’s hired a retired Marine Corps Sergeant Major Gary Tolar to serve as assistant deputy commissioner for secure facilities. Tolar brings more than 30 years of military experience to his new position and has been awarded more than 10 military service awards. Tolar will be responsible for ensuring its secure facilities are safer, and more productive and efficient. Tolar is currently working towards a degree in business management from the University of Virginia.
