Scott Frakes
Governor Pete Ricketts has named Scott Frakes the new director of the Nebraska Department of Corrections following a national search. Frakes has more than 32 years of experience in the Washington Department of Corrections where he worked in six different prisons. Frakes began his career as a correctional officer and later assumed administrative and management roles, including superintendent of both Coyote Ridge Corrections Center and Monroe Correctional Complex. In 2012, Frakes was promoted to deputy director of the department, where he oversaw six prisons, 2,800 staff members, 8,000 offenders and a biennial budget of $450 million. Frakes holds a Bachelor of Arts from Evergreen State College.
