Scott Edgecombe Joins Cornerstone Detention Products as President

Cornerstone Detention Products Inc. has appointed Scott A. Edgecombe as President, placing the veteran industrial executive in a newly created role responsible for day-to-day operations and execution.

Founder Charles “Mitch” Claborn will remain CEO, concentrating on long-range growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and expansion into adjacent security and safety markets.

In his new role, Edgecombe will lead daily execution and help build the operating capacity needed to support that expansion, while Claborn will direct longer-term initiatives.

Edgecombe joins Cornerstone after more than three decades in global manufacturing, engineered products and distribution. He most recently served as global CEO and managing director of Tensar, a division of Commercial Metals Company, where he was responsible for worldwide operations, manufacturing, sales, marketing, engineering and business integration.

According to Cornerstone, Edgecombe’s career has included work in organic growth, operational improvement, market expansion and acquisition integration.

“I look forward to partnering closely with Scott as we execute our strategy and strengthen our operations, building on the strong momentum across the business,” said Claborn. “His leadership experience, business acumen and people-first approach make him an outstanding addition to our executive team.”

Edgecombe said Cornerstone’s manufacturing capabilities, national service footprint and organizational culture influenced his decision to join the company. In the president role, his priorities will include expanding capacity while maintaining the quality and reliability expected by customers operating secure facilities.

Edgecombe holds an MBA from Georgia State University and a bachelor’s degree in polymer engineering from Illinois State University.
