California Inmate Hunger Strike Continues
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — More than a month has passed since thousands of inmates began a widespread hunger strike demanding an end to the use of Security Housing Units (SHUs) in correctional facilities under the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has again called upon Congress to shut down the detention center at Guantanamo Bay and has asked the Department of Defense to create a military tribunal site in the United States.
