Stinger Systems Offers Online Certification for Stun Gun Operators

TAMPA, Fla. — Stinger Systems Inc. is offering a computer-based training system for agencies interested in purchasing the company’s projectile stun weapons, including its signature product, the Stinger.

The online certification course is designed to allow departments to reduce overtime costs and maximize officer availability while providing training for the less-than-lethal technology.

Officers will have up to 30 days to complete online certification, which will allow greater flexibility over one-day, instructor-led classroom training. The online course includes taped video from live classes, quizzes, interactive Flash-based modules and scenario-based training.

Courses cover the basics of electricity, the effects of electricity on the human body, loading and unloading the Stinger, aiming the Stinger, post-firing procedures and suggestions for targeting and using data-capture software.
