Judge Says Corrections Department Could Face Lawsuit if Prisoners Are Not Moved

Despite testimony on improvement plans from Alabama’s recently appoint prison commissioner, a circuit judge said the prison system could face a lawsuit if state inmates are not transferred out of county jails within 30 days.

There are currently 496 state inmates that have been housed in county jails for more than 30 days, reports the Montgomery Advertiser newspaper. Read more HERE.
