PRISON EXPANSION: State officials break ground on a major expansion in Mitchellville

A major expansion is underway at the women’s prison in Mitchellville. Governor Chet Culver joined state officials Thursday to break ground on the $68 million dollar project. The effort is being funded through the I-JOBS program.
