Appraisals put Thomson prison value at nearly $200 million

The results of three appraisals done by the state of Illinois to set a price for the Thomson Correctional Center averaged around $220 million, about $50 million more than the Obama administration sought for its 2011 budget for the cost of the prison and renovations.
