Stockton Welcomes New Correctional Facility
On today’s program we talk with Doug Wilhoit, CEO of the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce in Stockton, California. While the Chamber may have taken federal receivership and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to court in 2008 as a response to the idea of a correctional medical facility that is now being built there, they are now completely in favor of the project – largely due to concessions they were able to obtain from the federal government. And with regard to the new 1.2 million square foot California Healthcare Correctional Facility that the CDCR expects to have online by 2013, the Chamber of Commerce has only one message and that is Welcome to Stockton!
