Security Technologies on Display at ISC West
LAS VEGAS — ISC West, one of the security industry’s largest gatherings, wrapped up in Las Vegas this year with over 1,000 exhibitors.
The event took place April 10-12 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. The tradeshow floor featured the latest in security products, from well-known companies to companies just starting out.
Products varied by category but included those assisting in access control, perimeter security, video surveillance, central monitoring and more. Stanley Security had a large presence at the show featuring its latest products including its iris-based identity authentication solution, EyeLock HBOX, which can be used in correctional facilities. Other companies showing a strong influence at the show included Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies, Assa Abloy and Pelco by Schneider Electric.
The growth in the security industry was seen with the large amount of attendees and exhibitors at the convention. ISC West reported a sold-out show floor, over 23,000 attendees and a reported 40 percent growth since last year.
ISC West was also the venue for the 34th SIA New Product Showcase, which featured products brand new to the market, including the winner of the “best new product,” Lynx Innovative Security Design. Lynx’s product is described as the world’s first edge computing platform for video surveillance to run Microsoft Embedded Windows.
With every-changing technology and an increasing need for security in the correctional industry, ISC West provided the perfect snapshot of the latest technologically advanced security products on the market.
“ISC West provides security professionals with a timely opportunity to organize their business and security product needs for 2013,” said Ed Several, senior vice president and general manager for ISC’s portfolio of events. “ISC West offers a first-hand glimpse of the industry’s annual status and with more than 170 new companies bringing new technologies to the marketplace, it looks like 2013 will be a good year.”
