Contractor Selected for Oren R. Fox Detention Center in California

EL CENTRO, Calif. — Work on the future medium-security Oren R. Fox Detention Facility in El Centro is inching closer to commencement. The Imperial County Board of Supervisors has selected Balfour Beatty Construction, with U.S. headquarters in Dallas, to design and build the new $28 million facility. Benton County Will Soon Seek Jail Expansion Bids

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Plans are nearing completion for the construction of two much-needed expansions to the Benton County Jail in Bentonville. Benton County officials have been researching the potential expansion of their county correctional facility since early 2015, and the projects are expected to officially go to bid in late January 2016. When complete, the expansions will offer more space for both misdemeanor offenders and female inmates.

Orange County, N.C. Plans Sustainable Jail

ORANGE COUNTY, N.C. — Orange County recently selected Moseley Architects of Charlotte, N.C., to design the new Orange County Detention Facility. The new jail aims to improve both energy efficiency and mental health care for inmates.

While design is still in its earliest phases, the new jail will likely include a number of sustainable features and cost approximately $20 million. It will replace the current Orange County Jail, which was originally constructed in 1925.
