U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co., the world?s largest producer and marketer of chewing tobacco, offers its products to correctional facilities in specially-packaged, security-conscious containers.

The company offers a variety of security packaging to meet varying regulations in different states and facilities. All-cardboard and partially-transparent or fully-transparent packaging allows officers to more easily inspect the package.

Smokeless tobacco offers an alternative to prisons under smoking bans. Cans without tin prevent inmates from fashioning the metal into weapons. The company also offers chewing tobacco in pouches.

Correctional facilities that carry the company?s smokeless tobacco products are currently eligible for an incentive rebate on Copenhagen, Skoal, Rooster, Red Seal and Husky ? 25 cents per can on premium brands. Distributors to jails and prisons are also eligible for a 20-percent service allowance.
