Detection Glove

Adams Electronics offers a vibrating metal detector that resembles a wrist brace. Already widely used in Europe, the MIT is the first detector an operator wears instead of holds, allowing for greater dexterity and faster searches.

A silent vibration is triggered on the wearer’s wrist when metal is detected, leaving subjects unaware of the alert. The MIT also leaves an officer’s fingers free to feel for concealed non-metallic objects. Officers remain in close contact with the subject being searched in pat-down and hand-searches.

Units can be worn on either the right or left hand or with one on each hand, giving the operator the added power of two detectors. MIT is fully automatic and requires no adjustments for use, according to Adams Electronics. Units are powered by one standard 9-volt battery or optional NiCad rechargeable battery.

There are no visible wires, switches or buttons, and the units are housed in a machine-washable, soft-stretching neoprene material.
