Electronic Stun Gun
Stinger Systems entered the projectile stun-gun market with its flagship product, The Stinger, which uses self-contained cartridges to shoot either two or four darts at targets up to 31 feet away.
According to the company, the new less-than-lethal gun has greater range with better target attainment than other projectile electromuscular-disruption weapons on the market. Users load one or two cartridges into the gun, aim the laser guide and pull the trigger. Clothing is penetrated up to 2 inches.
The Stinger?s MPEG4 video recorder captures up to two hours of video at 30 frames per second with full audio. Infrared capability allows night timing. Displays burst countdown, date, time and battery life. All data ? including length of shock and power of shock ? can be downloaded to a PC via USB ports.
Four 3V lithium batteries have a five-year shelf life. The Stinger measures approximately 7? x 4?. At press time, four-dart models were priced at $599 and two-dart models sold for $525.
