Richland County Signs Contract with Correct Care

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Officials in Richland County have negotiated a $2.7 million annual contract with Correct Care Solutions to provide medical services at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.

Prison Health Services Inc. previously held the contract for medical care at the facility, but officials decided to switch medical providers after three mentally ill inmates died while in custody. Under the new contract, the number of medical staff at the jail will increase from 15 to 28.
