RR Brink Helps Secure $140 Million Illinois Justice Center

ROCKFORD , ILL. — The newly unveiled 420,000-square-foot Winnebago County courthouse and jail facility features more than 1,600 detention-grade locking devices manufactured by R.R. Brink Locking Systems Inc.


Based in Shorewood , Ill. , Brink supplied both electromechanical and mechanical units from the company’s range of locking devices for all secure areas of the 1,212-bed detention and judicial facility. Secure-area locking devices throughout the facility feature the company’s Mogul-type key cylinders.


Segregation housing units and sally-port sliding door installations are equipped with RRBLS model 57700 electromechanical locking and operating devices, which feature integrated local key switch controls. General population units, which employ regular swinging cell doors, are equipped with RRBLS 5020 motorized locks that are compliment with the direct supervision model of inmate management employed at the Winnebago facility.
