Jail commission: Tent jail will be trend setter (Midland Reporter-Telegram)

Midland County’s new 72 bed tent jail, the first county lockup of its kind in Texas, will be a trend setter copied by many of the state’s 253 other counties for its relative thriftiness and quick construction, the executive director of the Texas Commission on Jail Standards predicted Thursday.
