Calaveras sheriff hopefuls present platforms

Only two candidates have emerged in the race for Calaveras County sheriff, and they both claim to be the most qualified for the job. Former Sheriffs Lt. Gary Kuntz, 57, Valley Springs, is facing off against Sheriffs Capt. Ed Ballard, 46, of Murphys.
