Southern Folger Snags Southern States’ Award
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Southern States Correctional Association honored Southern Folger Detention Equipment Co. with the President‘s Award in recognition of the San Antonio-based firm’s contribution to the SSCA, it‘s members and the field of corrections in the region.
Current SSCA President Kevin Murphy, human resources administrator at Arkansas Department of Corrections, handed over the David H. Williams Excellence of Service Award to Southern Folger President Don Halloran at the organization‘s annual conference in Little Rock, Ark., in July
On the corrections side, Southern Folger has provided quality installation of new equipment, equipment repair and retrofit of existing equipment to many of the facilities within the association‘s area, Murphy says.
This is the first time the SSCA — an association of corrections and law enforcement professionals representing 14 states from the southern region of the United States — has presented the President╒s Award to an industry supplier. State jurisdictions represented in the SSCA include, Alabama, Florida, Texas and West Virginia.
“We are proud to partner with this exceptional group of corrections professionals,” Halloran says.
San Antonio-based security electronics and detention equipment integrator Southern Folger Detention Equipment Co. was formed in 2004 with the merger of Folger Adam Co., founded in 1905 and Southern Steel Company, founded in 1897.
