Programming Chair
The Washington State Correctional Industries Programming Security Chair helps provide therapeutic programming and education to high-security offenders. Providing programming opportunities for offenders is an integral part of their rehabilitation, and cell front delivery of programming has been very inefficient in the past especially for inmates in intensive management units. The Programming Security Chair allows for safe student engagement with the facilitators as well as with other offenders, allowing for an innovative approach to managing highest risk offenders. The chair is designed with officer safety and institutional security in mind, placing the user in full restraints. The sliding motion of the desk allows officers to maintain eye contact with offenders. Five indexed locking positions allow the writing surface to be optimally positioned, accommodating a wide range of users.
