David Swies
Austin, Texas-based Broaddus & Associates has hired David Swies as a new senior project manager. In this new position, Swies will be responsible for the construction project management of the new Comal County Jail and renovated sheriff’s office in New Braunfels, Texas, which will result in a new facility of approximately 155,000 square feet containing 573 long-term beds, a 16-bed infirmary, a booking area with temporary holding cells, support areas, a detention administration area and visitation spaces for attorneys and families.
Swies has served as a project manager on several significant projects, with a specialty in corrections facilities. Swies began his career in 2001 for the Walsh Group, based in Chicago, where he served first as assistant project manager and project engineer and later as project manager before joining San Antonio-based CCC Group as the detention systems division manager. Swies received a Bachelor of Science in construction engineering from Iowa State University. In addition, Swies has served as a board member for San Antonio-based Crosspoint Inc. since November 2015. Crosspoint exists to build safer and stronger communities by empowering individuals to lead productive lives.
