Ana Bermúdez has been chosen to lead the New York City Department of Probation. Bermúdez brings more than two decades of experience to the position and previously served as deputy commissioner for Juvenile Operations at the New York City Department of Probation. She has also held posts as the director of Juvenile Justice Programs for The Children’s Aid Society and was formerly the director of Community Prep High School. Bermúdez studied health care policy at Brown University and received her Juris Doctor from Yale Law School. Bermúdez also serves on the Office of Children and Family Services Advisory Board, the Juvenile Justice Coalition and the Subcommittee on Disconnected Youth of the New York State Governor’s Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board.
