Shasta County Courthouse Project Faces Delays
REDDING, Calif. — The fate of a new six-story Shasta County Courthouse in Redding, which was originally scheduled to open in 2020, is currently up in the air, as court projects throughout California are facing delays.




OTAY MESA, Calif. — A new 317,000-square-foot housing facility is being constructed at Richard J. Donovan Correctional Complex, located in the San Diego community of Otay Mesa. Construction broke ground in April 2014, and the project is slated for completion in 2016.
HANFORD, Calif. — Construction on the new 144,000-square-foot Kings County Courthouse in Hanford is well underway, with a current expected completion date of late 2015.
PORTERVILLE, Calif. — The new South Justice Center for the Superior Court of Tulare County debuted last year on an approximately seven-acre site, which was formerly the Porterville Fairgrounds and Municipal Ballpark.
TUCSON, Ariz. — Sadness struck Tucson, Ariz., and the country as a whole on Jan. 8, 2011, when an armed gunman opened fire during a public meeting in a supermarket parking lot. Eighteen victims were shot, including U.S. representative Gabrielle Giffords; and six of those victims were later pronounced dead, including U.S. federal judge, John M. Roll.
