Execution Postponed After Anesthesiologists Back Out

SAN QUENTIN, Calif. — The execution of a California inmate was postponed Monday until tonight after two court-appointed anesthesiologists withdrew from participation hours before the inmate was scheduled to be put to death.

Michael Morales, who was sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a 17-year-old Stockton girl, is scheduled to be executed at 7:30 p.m., reports the San Francisco Chronicle.
